Vintage Brown Bakelite Desk Lamp, Soviet Era Adjustable Task Lamp

An absolutely beautiful vintage table lamp manufactured by the Orekhovo-Zuyevo factory in the USSR during the 1960s.

The lamp has a wonderfully sculptural curved design and is made almost entirely of Bakelite. Its combination of a black Bakelite base with a deep brown Bakelite arm and shade makes this model particularly unusual and highly decorative.

The shade can be tilted, allowing the light to be directed where needed. With its original on/off switch and substantial construction, it makes a distinctive desk or office lamp as well as a wonderful piece of Soviet industrial design.

The lamp is in working vintage condition and retains normal traces of age and use. There is a visible crack near the rear section of the shade, shown in the photographs. Despite this, the lamp remains a beautiful, rare and characterful piece.

Dimensions:

• Overall height: 44 cm
• Shade: 17 × 17 cm
• Base: 23 × 16 cm

A genuine vintage lamp with a strong architectural silhouette and a wonderful combination of brown and black Bakelite.
