Vintage Cast Iron Mechanical Scale made in England

This is a beautiful sturdy and solid vintage scale made of cast iron by Salter. It is really well patinated and is in amazing condition, especially for its age. It is quite heavy and large - 37 cm high, the round stand is 30 cm in diameter, the measuring plate is 35 cm long and 23 cm wide, it weighs 10.8 kg.
This particular scale was salvaged from an old barn in Belgium. It immediately caught our eye and we brought it home, cleaned it, and took care of it so it can once again be adored for its beauty and high quality.
These scales are lovely and genuine vintage pieces and great cottage/farmhouse decoration items. The patina really gives the scale a strong and appealing character.
