Absolutely stunning vintage piece with an unusual design, this light was originally a medical infrared light used for heat therapy. It was manufactured by Hanau in the 1930s. The lamp has a beautiful brown bakelite base and a working bakelite switch on the back of the shade. It is a really enjoyable Bauhouse-style accent piece.
It is in good working condition with normal traces of its previous life. The light is around 56 cm high. The shade is 37 cm long, 25 cm in diameter at its widest part. The bakelite base is 26 cm long and 17 cm at its widest part.
The lamp has been rewired with a 1.5m cable and a fitting for a E27 light bulb and is made for 220V network.
