Vintage Yugoslav Bakery Transport Crate – Folding Stainless Steel Bread Box

An exceptional vintage industrial transport crate manufactured in Yugoslavia in 1979 for the storage and transportation of bread and baked goods. Constructed from durable stainless steel with reinforced corners and folding side panels, this is a wonderful example of practical socialist-era industrial design.

What makes this crate particularly special is its ingenious collapsible construction. All four sides can be folded down, transforming the box into a flat unit for efficient storage and transport when not in use. This feature made it ideal for bakeries, food distribution centres, and industrial kitchens.

The crate retains its original embossed marking "SA-78" and displays the clean functional aesthetics typical of late 20th-century Eastern European industrial equipment. Today it makes a fantastic storage piece, industrial décor object, coffee table base, retail display prop, or collector's item for enthusiasts of vintage factory and bakery equipment.

The stainless steel construction remains in very good condition, with only minor signs of age and use accumulated over decades of service.
