Vintage Celluloid Anatomy Model of a Lizard

A striking and highly unusual mid-20th-century anatomical lizard model, produced in Bulgaria for advanced zoological education.

Originally used in university classrooms, this impressive didactic model demonstrates the internal anatomy of a reptile through a removable transparent cover. The construction is early celluloid — a material typical for scientific models of the period — making it both historically interesting and increasingly rare today.

Its size alone makes it exceptional. At nearly 60 cm in length, it commands attention and has a strong presence whether displayed in a study, collector’s cabinet, medical interior, or curated design space.

Authentic vintage condition.
