Vintage Bulgarian School Poster – Carp (Шаран)

A beautiful vintage Bulgarian school poster showing two carp fish in their natural freshwater habitat. Printed in Bulgaria by София-Прес, this chart was used in classrooms to teach zoology and freshwater species. The artwork is by Vasil Ivanov, whose illustrations are well-known from mid-century educational materials.

The poster has soft, earthy tones and lovely hand-painted details — tall water grasses, textured riverbed, and two large carp (including a mirror carp). It has the distinctive aesthetic typical of Eastern European school charts from the 1970s–1980s.

The paper has visible traces of age: soft creases, small tears near the edges, light discoloration, and some water staining in the lower corner. Nothing major, and everything is consistent with authentic classroom use. Overall, it remains a wonderful decorative piece with great character.
