Vintage Bulgarian Reptile Heart Model

A genuine vintage Bulgarian zoological teaching model depicting the heart of a reptile – crocodilian type, used in biology and anatomy classes during the 1960s.

This hand-painted plaster model illustrates the complex structure of a crocodile heart, notable for its four-chambered anatomy, a rare feature among reptiles and a key subject in comparative zoology education. The numbered sections and clearly defined vessels were designed for classroom demonstration and study.

Mounted on its original black bakelite base, the model has a strong sculptural presence and works beautifully today as:
– a scientific collector’s piece
– a medical or zoological teaching relic
– a striking object for cabinets of curiosities or academic interiors
