A highly authentic vintage ARRI camera tripod, originally manufactured for professional cinema use and built to meet the demanding standards of mid-20th century film production.

Founded in Munich in 1917, ARRI quickly became one of the most respected names in motion-picture technology, supplying equipment to film studios and broadcasters worldwide. This tripod features a head marked “Pat. Cartoni 35,” pointing to collaboration with the renowned Italian manufacturer Cartoni — a specialist in professional camera support systems known for patented tripod innovations.

Based on this partnership and the construction style, the tripod was most likely produced circa 1960s, when heavy wooden tripods were widely used to stabilise professional 16mm and early 35mm film cameras in studios, television environments, and documentary filmmaking.

Solid, precise, and unmistakably industrial, the tripod remains fully functional today. All adjustment knobs, rotating mechanisms, and moving components operate smoothly, reflecting the engineering quality expected from professional cinema equipment of the period.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition. Shows honest signs of age, including surface wear, light scratches, and a beautiful patina on both the wood and metal elements. Structurally strong, stable, and fully operational.
