Vintage Dutch PTT Norm 51 Wall Telephone

A genuine Dutch PTT "Norm 51" wall-mounted rotary telephone dating from the 1950s–1960s. Produced for the Dutch state telephone network, this iconic Bakelite telephone was designed for homes, offices, workshops, schools and public buildings throughout the Netherlands.

Unlike the more common desk version, this example was manufactured as a wall telephone, featuring a compact vertical design that allowed it to be mounted directly on a wall. The phone retains its original rotary dial, handset, cloth-covered cord, official PTT markings, and original inspection label on the underside.

The Norm 51 was introduced in 1951 and became one of the most recognisable telephone designs of post-war Europe. Its functional industrial design and glossy black Bakelite body make it a striking decorative object today, equally suitable for industrial interiors, mid-century modern spaces, offices, loft apartments, film props, or telecommunications collections.

The telephone is sold as a vintage collectable and decorative object. It has not been tested for use on modern telephone networks.
