Vintage German Fernsig EssenTelephone from 1980s-90s

An impressive and exceptionally heavy industrial telephone manufactured in East Germany (DDR) by VEB Fernmeldewerk Nordhausen. According to the original manufacturer's plate, this unit was produced in 1986 and was designed for demanding industrial environments where durability and reliability were essential.

Constructed from cast metal with a robust handset and rotary dial, this telephone embodies the functional industrial design of the Eastern Bloc era. The substantial housing, industrial connectors, and rugged construction suggest it was used in factories, power plants, mines, railway facilities, or other heavy-duty installations.

Good vintage condition with signs of age, use, oxidation, scratches, and wear consistent with decades of industrial service. The handset and rotary dial are present. The telephone has not been tested and is therefore sold as an untested decorative and collectable item.
