Vintage Bulgarian Anatomy Poster Human Muscles Back View

Wonderful large vintage Bulgarian anatomical teaching chart showing the muscular system of the human body from the back.

The poster belongs to the same educational anatomy series as the corresponding front-view chart and is titled in Bulgarian:

„Човешко тяло – Мускули – Гръбна страна“
“Human Body – Muscles – Back View”

The full-length anatomical figure illustrates the musculature of the back, shoulders, arms and legs, with numbered anatomical references printed alongside the image.

The artwork is credited to Dr. Krastyo Chokanov, a Bulgarian physician, artist and medical illustrator known for his work in anatomical and medical illustration.

This is a genuine vintage classroom chart from the same period and series as the matching front-view poster, dating to the mid-20th century.

The poster retains its original wooden hanging rods at the top and bottom, giving it the classic appearance of an old European school wall chart.

Despite its heavily aged condition, the anatomical illustration remains very striking. The large format, muted sepia and brown tones, and visible history make it an especially atmospheric decorative piece for a medical collection, studio, curiosity room, eclectic interior or vintage educational display.

Dimensions
Height: 137 cm / 53.9"
Width: 103 cm / 40.6"
Condition

Please note that this poster is in heavily distressed vintage condition.

It shows extensive traces of age and long-term classroom use, including:

numerous creases and wrinkles
cracking and surface deterioration
several tears
significant water staining and discoloration
foxing and age spots
worn and fragile edges
areas of paper loss
old transparent tape repairs
repaired tears through parts of the anatomical illustration
general surface wear throughout

There is a particularly visible old taped repair across the upper back/shoulder area of the figure, as well as additional tape repairs near the top edge.

The lower part of the poster has substantial water staining and deterioration.

These imperfections have not been restored or hidden and are an important part of the item's history. Please study all photographs carefully before purchasing.

For collectors who appreciate genuinely aged educational material, the distressed surface gives this piece a particularly strong antique classroom / medical archive aesthetic.
