A beautiful, large vintage galvanised zinc florist bucket, originally designed for displaying and storing cut flowers in a florist shop or flower market.
This is a wonderful old utilitarian piece with an unusually elegant shape. The tall tapered body sits on a wide pedestal-style base, which was designed to give the container stability when filled with tall bouquets and long-stemmed flowers.
The galvanised metal has developed a fantastic naturally aged grey patina, giving it an authentic industrial and rustic character. It looks particularly beautiful filled with dried flowers, branches or grasses and would make a striking decorative piece in a farmhouse, conservatory, garden room, shop or industrial-inspired interior.
The bucket is in good vintage condition with genuine signs of age and use. There are scratches, marks, areas of oxidation and discolouration to the galvanised surface, as well as age-related deposits and marks inside. There are also some small irregularities to the metal consistent with its original working use. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
The container has not been tested for watertightness, so if using it with fresh flowers, we recommend placing a separate water container or liner inside.
Dimensions:
Height: 43 cm / 16.9 in
Diameter of pedestal base: 30 cm / 11.8 in
A fantastic authentic piece of vintage florist equipment, equally suitable as a collectable object or as an impressive rustic flower vase.
