Vintage Anatomical Kidney & Urinary System Model

A fascinating vintage anatomical teaching model of the human urinary system, originally made for use in a school, medical classroom or biology laboratory.

The model shows the two kidneys, adrenal glands, major blood vessels and urinary bladder, all mounted on a black wooden display board. The red and blue vessels are clearly represented, giving the piece a strong graphic and educational appearance.

One of the kidneys is removable and opens to reveal a detailed cross-section of the internal kidney anatomy, including the renal cortex, medulla, renal pelvis and blood vessels. The internal section is hand-painted with fine anatomical details.

The model appears to be made from plaser with a painted finish, typical of mid-20th-century anatomical teaching models.

It has a wonderful authentic institutional appearance and would make an excellent piece for a medical collection, biology classroom, doctor's office, cabinet of curiosities, science display or vintage educational collection.

Condition

The model is in good vintage condition considering its age, but it shows clear signs of decades of educational use.
