Original 1970s Bulgarian enamel safety sign — an authentic piece of industrial and workplace history.

A striking vintage Bulgarian enamel sign with a bold blue-and-yellow design, manufactured for workplace safety and fire protection.

The original paper manufacturer's/product label is still attached to the reverse. It references BDS 11010-73, the Bulgarian standard for occupational safety and fire-protection signs. This standard dates from 1973, providing a strong indication that the sign was produced during the 1970s or subsequently while this standard was in use.

The sign has beautiful original age and character, including surface wear, enamel losses, scratches and oxidation around the edges. The reverse retains its original aged finish and paper label.

The unusual graphic design and strong blue/yellow colour combination make it particularly appealing as industrial wall décor, Bulgarian/Socialist-era memorabilia, factory décor or a collection piece.
It shows genuine signs of age and use, including scratches, worn enamel, small areas of enamel loss, edge wear and oxidation. The paper label on the reverse is also aged and worn but remains attached.
